Europe polycarbonate Q1 contracts roll over on poor demand

LONDON (ICIS)--European polycarbonate (PC) quarterly contract prices have rolled over because demand is poor and supply is long so buyers have managed to stave off producers' attempts to increase prices, sources said on Wednesday.

Moulding grade PC contracts are at €2.25-2.45/kg ($3-3.27/kg) FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe), while extrusion grade PC is at €2.15-2.25/kg FD NWE.

Most producers announced price increase targets of about €0.20-0.25/kg during December and January but because the market is long and sales are poor it was not possible to achieve this.

On some occasions, producers managed to raise prices by about €0.05-0.10/kg, but the majority of contracts settled at a rollover.
