SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Philippines’ DFE Chemical Corp plans to shut its 30,000 tonne/year polystyrene (PS) plant in June for maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.
The facility, located in Manila, is expected to be shut for around three weeks.
PS is used in packaging and to make toys, utensils and consumer electronics.
Other PS makers in southeast Asia include Denka and Total Petrochemicals in Singapore, Idemitsu Kosan in Malaysia, IRPC and Siam Cement in Thailand.
