SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Thailand’s PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) is running its 515,000 tonne/year mixed-feed I-4 No 1 cracker at Map Ta Phut at around 80% of capacity this month because of feedstock shortage, a company source said on Thursday.

“There is not enough LPG (liquefied petroleum gas),” said the source.

The I-4 No 1 cracker mainly cracks naphtha to produce olefins, such as ethylene and propylene.

PTTGC runs three other gas crackers at the site with a combined nameplate ethylene capacity of 1.86m tonnes/year. All three crackers are operating at 90% capacity this month, the source said.
