LONDON (ICIS)--The European butadiene (BD) contract price for February has been agreed at €1,365/tonne ($1,820/tonne), a rollover from January, a producer said on Thursday.
The settlement was described as a “wait-and-see settlement” or an “interim settlement" by a couple of the contract participants as there were no strong arguments for either an increase nor a decrease.
“It’s an appropriate settlement. It makes sense given the current supply and demand balance and the uncertainties how demand and the economy will develop,” a second producer said.
The contract, which is settled on a free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE) basis, has been confirmed by two suppliers and two consumers.
