SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Iran’s Zagros Petrochemical Co (ZPC) has shut one of its 1.65m tonne/year methanol plants, Zagros II at Asaluyeh, because of a redirection of natural gas for heating, said a source close to the company on Friday.
It was unclear when the plant was shut, while Zagros I is currently operating at 40-45%.
Other major methanol producers in the region include Saudi Arabia’s SABIC and Oman Methanol.
