SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Yisheng Petrochemical plans to keep its 2m tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) unit in Hainan province shut until end-February because of poor market conditions, a source close to the company said.
The unit was shut on 20-21 January, the source said.
Prior to the shutdown, the company was operating the unit at 30% of capacity after achieving on-spec production in early January.
Yisheng has meanwhile raised operating rates at its new 3.3m tonne/year Dalian PTA unit in Liaoning province to 50% of capacity from 30% since mid-January, the source added.
The 3.3m tonne/year new Dalian PTA unit achieved on-spec production in end-December.
