SINGAPORE (ICIS)--German specialty chemical company LANXESS said in a statement on Monday that it plans to build a new 25,000 tonne/year plant in Ningbo, east China, to manufacture high quality iron oxide red pigments.
The plant, which is located at Ningbo Chemical Park, will have an investment of around €55m ($74.25m) and construction will begin in the second quarter of 2013, LANXESS said.
The start-up date for the pigment plant is scheduled in the first quarter of 2015.
The new plant will produce iron oxide red pigments through a high-tech and environmentally sustainable Penniman process.
