SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Yunnan Yuntianhua Co will continue to keep its 60,000 tonne/year polyacetal (POM) plant in Chongqing off line with no specific restart date, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.

The POM plant has three 20,000 tonne/year lines in total.

Market participants said they have no concerns, as plant shutdowns typically occur during a seasonal lull in demand in the days leading up to the Lunar New Year holiday.

Market sources added that several plants might be taken off stream early, because workers usually take leave before the festive holiday to return to their hometowns.

Yunnan Yuntianhua has a 30,000 tonne/year POM unit in Yunnan that is currently running at 100% capacity, sources close to the company said.
