SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korean producer Lotte Chemical plans to take offline its Daesan-based 50,000 tonnes/year glycol ethers plant in March for maintenance, a company source said on Tuesday.

The unit would be shut for about 25 days and the producer plans to restart production towards the end of March, he added.

The producer estimates the total loss of production during the time the plant is shut will be about 4,000 tonnes, the source said.

Due to this shutdown, the producer has limited offers for February.

Some of the other key butyl glycol (BG) suppliers in Asia are Dow Chemical, Eastman, Lyondell and INEOS.
