HOUSTON (ICIS)--The US February benzene contract dropped by 36 cents/gal on Thursday to settle at $4.80/gal, according to trade participants.
The February settlement, which was below the January record high of $5.16/gal FOB (free on board) was in line with market expectations, as lower prices and improved supply conditions overseas have influenced the US market.
The February settlement also represented the first decline for US benzene contracts in four months.
