SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Yangtze River Acetyls Co (Yaraco) plans to restart operations at its 420,000 tonne/year acetic acid plant in Chongqing, Sichuan province, in early February following a one-month turnaround, a company official said on Friday.

“The plant was shut in early January and the restart is scheduled on around 5 February,” he added.

Yaraco is a joint venture owned by BP (51%), Sinopec Sichuan Vinylon Works (44%) and Chongqing Energy Investment Group (5%).

The site houses an annual acetic acid capacity of approximately 420,000 tonnes and a further 100,000 tonnes of ethyl acetate (etac) and butyl acetate (butac).
