Taiwan's Formosa Plastics to restart MMA plant over the weekend

BRISBANE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics Corp (FPC) intends to restart its 98,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant over the weekend, a company source said on Friday.

The acetone cyanohydrin-based MMA plant is shut since 5 January for its annual month-long turnaround, the source added.

MMA is used in the production of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), artificial marble, cast sheets and acrylic resins for coatings and emulsions.
