TOKYO (ICIS)--Japan’s Mitsubishi Gas Chemical recorded a 76% increase in its nine-month net profit to yen (Y) 16.2bn ($175m) from the same time a year earlier, partly owing to the country’s tax reform, the company said on Tuesday.
Operating profit from April-December 2012 rose by 2.8% year on year to Y9.45bn, while net sales were up by 1.7% to Y349.3bn.
Operating profit in the performance chemicals segment increased by 14% to Y6.5bn, while net sales rose by 11% to Y100bn, partly due to increased sales volume of industrial chemicals for electronics, the producer said.
