LONDON (ICIS)--Here is Tuesday’s midday European oil and chemical market summary from ICIS.
CRUDE: March WTI: $96.60/bbl, up 43 cents/bbl. March BRENT: $116.10/bbl, up 50 cents/bbl
Some of the ground lost on Monday was recouped as fears over the eurozone economy eased and the euro rallied, leading to a weaker US dollar.
NAPHTHA: $967-970/tonne, up $1/tonne
The cargo range has changed little from Monday afternoon as a result of similar crude oil prices and a steady crack spread. March swaps were assessed at $946-947/tonne.
BENZENE: $1,405-1,425/tonne, down $15/tonne
Offers for both months edged down overnight to $1,425/tonne, with the US and Asian markets both lacklustre so far this week.
STYRENE: $1,710-1,740/tonne, down $10/tonne
Lower benzene numbers brought February styrene down this morning. March remains in a slight contango at $1,715-1,745/tonne.
