US jet fuel consumption rises; inventories drop 1.8%

HOSUTON (ICIS)--US jet fuel consumption rates rose as inventories fell for the week ended 1 February, a government agency’s report showed on Wednesday.

Jet fuel consumption increased by 66,000 bbl/day, or 4.8%, to reach 1.432m bbl/day, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).

Accordingly, US jet fuel inventories were 70,000 bbl lower at 39.1m bbl.

For the week ended 1 February, jet fuel production changed little, falling by just 1,000 bbl/day to a rate of 1.393m bbl/day.
