SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s CPC Corp plans to shut its 385,000 tonne/year No 4 naphtha cracker in Linyuan for scheduled maintenance in the third quarter of the year, a company source said on Thursday.
The turnaround is expected to last for around 90 days and is likely to take place after the new 600,000 tonne/year No 6 naphtha cracker is started up, the source said.
The No 6 cracker at Linyuan is on track to come on stream earliest in July 2013, the source added.
The new plant replaces CPC’s 230,000 tonne/year No 3 naphtha cracker at the same site that was mothballed in June 2012.
CPC also runs a 500,000 tonne/year No 5 naphtha cracker in Kaohsiung which is not scheduled for a turnaround this year.
