MELBOURNE (ICIS)--China’s Rizhao Jiahong Biological Technology plans to continue running its 100,000 tonne/year ethyl acetate (etac) plant at 40% of capacity over the Lunar New Year holiday, a company source said on Thursday.

The measure will avert an inventory build-up over the holiday period, the source said.

Rizhao Jiahong has been running its etac plant at 40% of capacity since 30 January, when the unit was restarted following repairs.

"We will review our plant operating rate after the [Lunar New Year] holiday, depending on the market situation," the source said.

The Lunar New Year holiday in China falls on 9-15 February in 2013.
