SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Hengli Petrochemical has ramped up operating rates at its 2.2m tonne/year No 2 purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant at Dalian in Liaoning province to 100% capacity after minor maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.
The plant was taken off line on 3-4 February for a change of an electrical sensor, the source said.
“We restarted the unit on 5 February and achieved full operations today [7 February],” the source added.
The production loss was said to be limited and will not affect long-term contractual supply, the source said.
Hengli’s No 2 PTA unit was newly started up on 20-21 October 2012.
The company’s 2.2m tonne/year No 1 PTA unit at the same site, which started up in mid-September 2012, is running at 100% of capacity, the source added.
