HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ammonia imports in 2012 were down by nearly 8% from the same time period a year earlier, according to data made available by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Monday.
According to the report, ammonia imports declined to 6,294,787 tonnes in 2012 from 6,810,747 tonnes in 2011.
Imports fell this past year on reduced supplies received from Ukraine and Brazil.
Trinidad and Tobago at 3,769,507 tonnes was the major source of US ammonia imports, followed by Canada at 1,128,672 tonnes, Russia at 537,502 tonnes and Ukraine at 302,521 tonnes.
Other sources included Venezuela, Saudi Arabia and Brazil.
