LONDON (ICIS)--Technip, in a consortium with a Mexican partner, won a contract to revamp Petroleos Mexicanos’ (PEMEX) Hector R Lara Sosa refinery in Cadereyta near Monterrey, Mexico, the France-based petrochemicals engineering firm said on Wednesday.

The scope of Technip's work includes the detailed engineering, procurement, construction, training, commissioning and start-up for the recondition of the combustion gases system of the No. 1 catalytic plant of the refinery, it said.

Technip’s share of the contract is worth about $40m (€30m), it added.

Technip added that it won the contract because of its acquisition of the Stone & Webster process technologies business last year.
