NOON SNAPSHOT - Asia Markets Summary

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Here is Thursday’s midday Asia oil and chemical markets summary from ICIS.

CRUDE: Mar WTI $97.15/bbl, up 14 cents/bbl; Apr BRENT $117.97/bbl, up 9 cents/bbl
Crude futures were trading higher, with US crude recovering from losses overnight. Crude prices are being supported by expectations of better demand this year.

NAPHTHA: $1,056.50-1,059.50/tonne CFR Japan, up $0.50-1.50/tonne
Open-spec second-half March contract edged up in morning trading on the back of higher Brent crude futures.

 BENZENE: $1,410-1,425/tonne FOB Korea, down $15/tonne
Offers for second-half March loading were at $1,425/tonne FOB Korea, against bids at $1,410/tonne FOB Korea. Bids for April parcels were at $1,405-1,410/tonne FOB Korea.       

TOLUENE: $1,315-1,320/tonne FOB Korea, stable
Offers for second-half March cargoes were at $1,322/tonne FOB Korea, but there were no bidders.        

ETHYLENE: $1,400-1,420/tonne CFR NE Asia, stable
Selling indications were heard at around $1,450/tonne CFR NE Asia for March arrival while discussions are expected to resume after the Lunar New Year holiday.

PROPYLENE: $1,400-1,420/tonne CFR NE Asia, stable
Selling ideas were at the low-to-mid-$1,400s/tonne CFR NE Asia for March arrival but no deals were heard done.
