SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s CPC Corp restarted its No 5 cracker in Kaohsiung late on Tuesday after a brief production shutdown, a company source said on Wednesday.

CPC is looking to ramp up operating rates at the 500,000 tonne/year cracker once the unit’s operations stabilised, the source said.

A power outage at CPC’s refinery at the site late on 18 February prompted the shutdown of the No 5 cracker.

Olefins output loss is minimal, the company source said.
