MELBOURNE (ICIS)--South Korea's Hannong Chemicals plans to shut its 30,000 tonne/year glycol ethers plant in Gunsan for maintenance in late March, a company source said on Wednesday.

The plant will undergo overhaul between 22 March and 9 April, the source said.

Hannong operates a second 30,000 tonne/year glycol ethers plant at Daesan.

A turnaround at the Daesan plant has been planned for the autumn. However, the dates have not yet been finalised, the source added.

Hannong's Gunsan plant maintenance will overlap with a 25-day turnaround planned by South Korea's Lotte Chemical separately.

Lotte Chemical will shut its 50,000 tonne/year glycol ethers plant in Daesan on 1-25 March for a turnaround.
