SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Sinopec will be using the LP Oxo technology, which is developed by Dow Chemical and Davy Process Technology, at its planned production of 2-ethylhexanol (2-EH), normal butanol and isobutanol at Anhui province in eastern China, the US chemical producer said late on Tuesday.
The project in Anqing city will be operated by China Petrochemical International Co Ltd – a subsidiary of China's petrochemical giant Sinopec, Dow said in a statement.
The project is expected to be able to produce 100,000 tonnes/year of 2-EH; 115,000 tonnes/year of normal butanol; and 23,000 tonnes/year of isobutanol, it added.
“The [LP Oxo] technology offers a high conversion of propylene to alcohols, low capital investment, and easy operation,” Dow Chemical said.
