SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Jilin Petrochemical will switch to producing HDPE film grade from HDPE pipe grade at its 300,000 tonne/year high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plant in Jilin province on 20 February, a company source said on Wednesday.
The switch is due to the company’s production schedule, the source added.
According to the market sources, the prices of HDPE film grade may fall after HDPE film grade supply increases because Jilin Petrochemical is one of the major producers in China.
According to Chemease, the prices of domestic HDPE film grade were at yuan (CNY) 11,450-11,750/tonne ($1,832-1,880/tonne) on 20 February, down by CNY50/tonne compared with 18 February.
Jilin Petrochemical is a subsidiary of state-owned oil giant PetroChina.
