Austria’s Poerner wins work for India bitumen plant

LONDON (ICIS)--Poerner has won a contract for work on a 100,000 tonne/year bitumen plant at Indian Oil Corp’s (IOC) Barauni refinery near Patna in India’s eastern Bihar state, the Austria-based energy and chemicals engineering firm said on Wednesday.

Poerner said that under the contract with IOC it will provide engineering and construction services and technology licensing, as well as support during plant commissioning and start-up.

The plant is expected to begin production in 2014, Poerner said. Financial details were not disclosed.
