LONDON (ICIS)--The 17th World Base Oils ICIS conference kicked off in London on Thursday, bringing together over 600 industry participants from the base oils, lubricants and additives businesses.
“We’re in a time of unprecedented change,” said XB Cox, basestocks and specialities planning manager for ExxonMobil, speaking at the conference.
According to this speaker, changes are coming in the form of new capacity, capacity rationalisation, new players, changing supply routes and increasing performance requirements for lubricants.
The ICIS World Base Oils conference focuses largely on Europe, but attendees span the global community of market participants, including many from the US, India, Asia and South America.
The World Base Oils conference is taking place 21-22 February in London.
