SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Hualu Hengsheng plans to shut its 500,000 tonne/year acetic acid plant in Dezhou, Shandong province, on 23 February for routine maintenance lasting 10 days, a company official said on Friday.

“We will shut down the plant tomorrow [Saturday] for normal maintenance and we are currently running the plant at 100% capacity,” he added.

The plant's capacity was increased to 500,000 tonnes/year in mid-2012 from 350,000 tonnes/year.

Major acetic acid producers in China include Celanese, BP, Jiangsu Sopo, Shanghai Wujing, Yankuang Cathay Coal Chemicals, Hebei Yingdu Gasification Co.
