Japan’s JX Nippon nominates March PX ACP at $1,740/tonne

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s JX Nippon Oil & Energy has nominated its March paraxylene (PX) Asian Contract Price (ACP) at $1,740/tonne (€1,322/tonne) CFR (cost & freight) Asia, $20/tonne higher than its February nomination, two of its customers confirmed on Friday.

A second major PX producer, ExxonMobil, announced its March PX ACP nomination at $1,750/tonne CFR Asia, according to three of its customers.

On 20 February, another Japanese producer, Idemitsu Kosan, nominated $1,800/tonne CFR Asia for March PX ACP.

Buyers have yet to respond to the price hike and no counter bids were placed forward, sources said.
