SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Hongye Chemical Industrial Group restarted its 140,000 tonne/year adipic acid (ADA) plant in Shandong province in the first half of the week after scheduled maintenance was completed, a company source said on Wednesday.
“We have already restarted [the ADA plant] early this week and the plant is running normally,” the source said, but declined to reveal the current operating rates.
The ADA plant was shut on 7 February for the turnaround.
ADA is largely used to produce nylon 6,6 (polyamide 6,6) and polyurethanes (PU) found in products such as shoe soles and polyester resins.
