SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Liaoyang Petrochemical, a subsidiary of PetroChina, has postponed the scheduled maintenance of its 9m tonne/year refinery in Liaoning province to the third quarter, a company source said on Wednesday.
The one-month turnaround may start in July or August, against the original schedule of April-May, the source said.
The refinery maintenance will be conducted simultaneously with the planned upgrade for the company’s 200,000 tonne monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant at the site, the source said.
Delivery of required equipment for the MEG plant upgrade was delayed, prompting the change in shutdown schedule for both the plant and the refinery, the source said.
