SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Iran’s Kharg Petrochemical is currently running its 660,000 tonne/year natural gas-based methanol plant at 80% of capacity, a company source said on Wednesday.

The plant started running at this capacity since 25 February, down from 90% previously, the source said, citing limited supply of feedstock natural gas.

Full production at the methanol plant will resume in the next two days, the source said.

Kharg Petrochemical exports its methanol output to China and India.

Other methanol producers in the Middle East include SABIC and Oman Methanol Co.
