BRISBANE (ICIS)--China’s caprolactam (capro) imports in January increased by 12% from December, official statistics showed on Wednesday.
The country imported 39,679 tonnes of capro in January, according to China Customs data.
Capro import prices in January averaged $2,298/tonne (€1,770/tonne), representing a 2% decline from the previous month, the data showed.
Demand for derivative downstream nylon remained poor amid China’s slowing economy, market players said.
