SINGAPORE (ICIS) -- India’s Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) plans to shut its 360,000 tonne/year polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant in Hazira, Gujarat, in the first half of March for maintenance, a source close to the company said on Thursday.
The turnaround is expected to last for about 10-12 days, and operations are likely to resume in March itself, the source said.
"With the [RIL] Hazira [PVC] unit turnaround, Reliance will not have any surplus cargoes. Product will be just enough to sell to its regular customers,” the source added.
Although no specific dates for the turnaround were stated by the source close to the company, market sources said that it was likely to commence on 10 March.
