SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Weifang Daye Chemical is running its 10,000 tonne/year methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) unit at Linqu in Shandong at 68% of capacity after restarting the plant on 27 February, a company source said on Wednesday.
The unit was taken off line on 24 December last year because of poor margins, according to the source.
“We will resume commercial supply when stocks are sufficient,” added the source.
The company typically produces 40 tonnes/day of MTBE with purity at 97% and sulphur content at 300-400 parts per million (ppm).
