HOUSTON (ICIS)--The US March benzene contract dropped by 11 cents/gal to settle at $4.69/gal ($1,404/tonne, €1,067/tonne) on Thursday, following the recent weakness in benzene spot prices and energy futures, according to trade participants.
The decline was the second consecutive monthly decline for the US benzene contract, in line with market expectations from earlier this week.
Some trade sources said on Thursday that they expected the March benzene contract to settle within a range of $4.70-4.73/gal FOB (free on board).($1 = €0.76)
