LONDON (ICIS)--Oxea’s new oxo derivatives plant at Nanjing, China, is on track for mechanical completion by the end of 2013, the Germany-based international oxo chemicals major said on Thursday.

Oxea's first production facility in China, announced in 2011, will initially produce specialty esters, phthalate-free plasticizers and other oxo derivatives for customers in China’s automotive, construction, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and personal care products industries, among others.

“But we already have plans for new investments into the plant – along with sufficient space and resources to implement future expansions at Nanjing,” Miguel Mantas, Oxea’s executive board member for marketing and sales, said in an update.

Mantas did not disclose capacity or financial details.
