SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Clariant Chemicals in India has appointed Deepak Parikh as its new managing director effective from 1 March this year, the specialty chemical firm said on Friday.
Parikh will also take over as vice chairman of the company’s board, effective from 27 April this year, Clariant Chemicals said in a statement.
He replaces Peter Palm, who has resigned as the vice chairman and managing director of the company. Palm will continue as the executive director and vice chairman from 1 March until his retirement on 27 April this year.
Parikh joins Clariant Chemicals from US-based Lion Copolymer, where he held dual roles as the chief vice-president of the company’s Asia Pacific business and chief technology officer.
