LONDON (ICIS)--A technical issue has forced the shutdown of SABIC’s 100,000 tonnes/year butadiene (BD) producing unit at Wilton, in the UK, a company source said on Friday.
“We will have to shutdown for a short period of time… we are switching off today,” the company source said.
Further details and an update of the expected duration of the downtime will be available next week.
SABIC recently postponed its planned March-April turnaround at its Geleen, Netherlands site until 2014.
