Europe epoxy resins prices roll over on poor demand

LONDON (ICIS)--European epoxy resins prices have rolled over as demand is weak, although some sources expect increases in April because of tightening feedstock supply and higher raw material costs, sources said on Tuesday.

The March liquid epoxy resins (LER) contract prices is at €2,630-2,670/tonne ($3,415-3,467/tonne) FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe), while solid epoxy resins contracts are at €2,490-2,520/tonne FD NWE.

In the majority of cases most producers rolled contracts over with a few increasing by €20-30/tonne. This was backed up by buyers that said that unfortunately there have been definitely no decreases, and most contracts have rolled over.

A central European producer was targeting €100/tonne hikes for March but it had to realise that the market was not ready for that. It added that negotiations were tough and because prices in Asia and the US are still low they did not manage to increase in Europe.
