SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s GS Caltex is planning to shut its 800,000 tonne/year bitumen plant at Yeosu in mid-March for maintenance, a trader said on Wednesday.

The duration of the scheduled maintenance could not be confirmed immediately.

The refiner has reduced its spot bitumen supply to China to two cargoes from an original plan of three for this month because of the upcoming turnaround, according to the source.

The two cargoes will be loaded before the bitumen plant is taken off line for maintenance, the source added.

GS Caltex usually arranges 5,000 tonnes of bitumen as one cargo, according to ICIS data.
