China's Qilu Petrochemical to shut caustic soda plant on 4 April

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Qilu Petrochemical, a subsidiary of Chinese petrochemical major Sinopec, plans to shut its 450,000 tonne/year caustic soda plant in Shandong on 4 April for regular maintenance, a company source said on Wednesday.

The maintenance will last for about 40 days, the source added.

The caustic soda plant is currently running at full capacity ahead of its pending turnaround, the source said.

Qilu Petrochemical is offering caustic soda with 30% liquid membrane at yuan (CNY) 1,967/tonne ($316-332/tonne) and those with 48% liquid membrane at CNY2,063/tonne on 6 March,according to Chemease, an ICIS service in China.
