SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Vessel operator Scorpio Tankers has agreed to time charter a product tanker, according to a company statement late on Wednesday.
Time charter refers to a contract for the cargo space of a vessel for a specified period.
It did not mention whom it agreed the deal with.
The medium range (MR) product tanker will be time chartered for two years at $14,121/day (€10,873/day).
The company can choose to extend the charter for an additional year at $15,504/day.
The operator currently owns 13 tankers.
Scorpio Tankers distributes downstream products such as gasoline and fuel oil from refineries to end-users.
