HOUSTON (ICIS)--Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) domestic prices in Colombia for March business rose by $70/tonne (€54/tonne) from February, driven by the regional firming trend and by tight supply throughout the Americas, industry sources said on Thursday.
Domestic PVC prices are assessed for March at $1,360/tonne DEL (delivered) for pipe grade and $1,380/tonne DEL for general purpose (GP) grade.
March export resin from Colombia is offered at $1,210-1,220/tonne CFR South America, up by $50/tonne this month following the $30/tonne hike in February from January.
Local sources said supply has been meeting strong demand despite five days of maintenance at the domestic PVC plant in mid-February.
The domestic PVC producer in Colombia is Mexichem.
