SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Aekyung Petrochemical will keep the operating rates at its 370,000 tonne/year plasticizer plant in Ulsan at full capacity from now through to April, a company source said on Friday.
“Demand coming from China is not that strong, but we still have regular sales in southeast Asia, South America and other regions,” the source explained.
The company does not have any plans to shut the plasticizer plant for maintenance in the near term, the source said.
The unit is able to produce 200,000 tonnes/year of dioctyl phthalate (DOP) and 20,000 tonnes/year of dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP), with the remaining production capacity allocated for producing other plasticizers.
