HOUSTON (ICIS)--US exports of methyl di-p-phenylene isocyanate (MDI) in January 2013 were up by 24% from 2012, according to data made available by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Friday.
MDI exports in January 2013 increased to 936 tonnes from 756 tonnes in 2012.
Month on month, exports rose by 32% in January 2013 from 707 tonnes in December 2012, the ITC said.
The increase from 2012 to 2013 was a result of larger volumes being shipped to Argentina, Brazil, Korea and Taiwan.
Top destinations for US MDI in 2013 were Mexico (398 tonnes), Brazil (201 tonnes) and Argentina (118 tonnes).
US MDI suppliers are Bayer MaterialScience, Huntsman, BASF and Dow Chemical.
