HOUSTON (ICIS)--US nylon imports for January were up by almost 9% year on year, according to data made available on Friday by the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
Canada, Germany and the Netherlands were the points of origin of the top three amounts of material imported.
US nylon exports for January increased by about 4% year on year, rising from 49,504 tonnes in January 2012 to 51,583 tonnes in January 2013.
Mexico, China and Canada were the three largest exporters of nylon into the US.
The ITC groups nylon 6; nylon 11; nylon 12; nylon 6,6; nylon 6,9; nylon 6,10 and nylon 6,12 in its report.

US producers of nylon include Ascend Performance Materials, BASF, DuPont, EMS-Grivory, Honeywell, INVISTA, NYCOA and Shaw.
