SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Linde Group will build six major air separation units for Shenhua Group at Yinchuan in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in northwest China, the German industrial gases firm said on Monday.

Investment details were not disclosed.

Each of the air separation units due to come on stream in 2015 will supply around 100,000 normal cubic metres (cbm) of gaseous oxygen per hour to Shenhua Ningxia's coal-to-liquid complex at Ningdong Energy Chemical Base, Linde said in a statement.

The oxygen will be used for the production of 4m tonnes/year of liquids – mainly liquid fuels derived from coal – making it one of the largest coal-to-liquid projects in the world, Linde said.

Shenhua Ningxia is a member of Shenhua Group, which is the largest coal chemical company in China.
