SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s JX Nippon Oil & Energy plans to restart its Mizushima-based paraxylene (PX) unit next week, a company source said on Thursday.
The unit, which has a nameplate capacity of 350,000 tonnes/year of PX, was shut in end-January for a scheduled 40-45 days turnaround, the source said.
The company currently has no other maintenance plans for the other units this year, the source added.
The aromatics major operates a total of eight PX facilities in Japan, with a total capacity of up to 2.57m tonnes/year.
