LONDON (ICIS)--Qatar Fertiliser Company (QAFCO) said this week its 60,000 tonne/year melamine facility will run at approximately 40% of capacity during its partial shutdown in May.
“Our production capacity during the partial shutdown in May will be about 40% of our 60,000 tonne/year capacity, or about 5,000 tonnes/month,” a source from the company confirmed on Wednesday.
The facility is located in Mesaieed Industrial City, near Doha, on the east coast of the country.
Melamine is combined with formaldehyde to produce melamine formaldehyde resin. End-products include counter tops, dry erase boards, fabrics, glues, housewares, guitar saddles, guitar nuts and flame retardants.
